Please be informed on below details;

Ø  All candidates are advised to completed the entire online application / registration process on or before 11th Feb 2019.

Ø  All candidates are advised to apply only through the link provided by the Placement Cell of the respective campuses. Candidates applying online directly through our website will be considered as off-campus, hence they shall be liable to pay Online Exam fee.

Ø  Campus Drive candidates are exempted from Entrance Examination Fee of Rs.1100/-.

Ø  Candidates are advised to select the “SIMS COCHIN” as their preferred field office location, as the campus drive is planned by the our Cochin Field office.

Ø  Candidates will be intimated on the status of their online application from our end.

Ø  Activation of Online Exam sessions will be done only after successful completion of the entire registration process.

Ø  Candidates are advised to upload a clear and legible passport size photographs above 1Mb while applying.

Ø  Candidates are advised to take note of their Unique application / exam Roll number.(displayed immediately after successful submission of online application)

Ø  Candidate are free to choose their Examination venue from the above as per their availability and convenience.

Ø  Candidates unable to attend Online exam at their respective campuses are facilitated with the option of attending the same at any of the above campuses.

Ø  Candidates are advised to visit our website www.samundra.com for sample question paper and more details about the GME course.

Ø  Exam results will be declared and intimated directly to individual candidate and also to the Placement Cells of the campuses taking part in the event.

Ø  All Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend Final Interview and Psychometric Test. (Date & Venue shall be intimated soon after declaration of the results).

Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) is a one (1)-year post graduate course for students with a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture from any AICTE approved engineering college in India. Upon successful completion, an engine cadet will qualify for a 6 months onboard training as a Junior Engineer on a seagoing vessel, receiving free boarding & lodging apart from a monthly stipend during onboard training. Thereafter, he appears for the Certificate of Competency (COC) Examination (Class IV) conducted by the Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India. Upon receiving the COC, he is eligible to serve as a Fourth Engineer officer onboard a ship.

  Eligibility For Engine Officer
  Age  Not more than 25 years
 Unmarried
  Academic  Graduation in BE (Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architecture only) from a college approved by AICTE OR Deemed University approved by UGC.  Minimum score of 55% in final year. B.E. / B.Tech. (Candidates who are sure to obtain 55% aggregate in 7th & 8th Semester may also apply).
 Completion of the degree in 4 years from the date of admission.
  Numbers of ATKT’s / Backlog History / Arrears / “E” grades obtained during the entire degree programme : Not more than 6.

Candidates who have appeared for the 8th Semester examinations and the results are yet to be declared, are also eligible to appear.

  Medical Physically fit and meet the standards laid out by DG Shipping & ESM / SIMS*
  Language English shall be one of the subjects with minimum marks scored 50% in class X or XII
  Eyesight 6/12 in each eye or 6/9 in the better eye & 6/18 in the other eye.

Corrective lenses permitted. No colour-blindness.
